Roles Available: *NOTE: the role of Harriet has been pre-cast. 6 women – ages 21 and up.
* HARRIET: F (40’s – 50’s). Any ethnicity. Chief of Staff. She’s the one in charge. She can pull a rabbit from any hat. This doesn’t mean she’s perfect; in fact, the stress can get to her quite easily. She’s gonna get it done either way, so move. Liz Lemon from 30 Rock meets Olivia Pope from Scandal.
JEAN: F (30’s – 50’s). Any ethnicity. Press Secretary. She’s the public face who is one second from falling apart in private. She has the grace and the composure to make sure you know that everything is fine, but she is sick of cleaning up everyone’s mess all the time. Christina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy meets Isla Fisher from Running Point.
STEPHANIE: F (30’s – 40’s). Any ethnicity. Secretary to the President. She’s full of potential. Unfortunately, that potential is locked in a vault that she’s too scared to open. She could be the girl next door, but she’s spying on everyone through the windows instead of going to the block party. Piglet from Winnie the Pooh and Daisy from Downton Abbey.
DUSTY: F (20’s – 30’s). Any ethnicity. Having an affair with the President. Don’t underestimate her- she’s not a total airhead. Unabashed, unashamed, and just a tad unchaste, she has a hint of salt-of-the-earth under her champagne frosting. Elle Woods from Legally Blonde meets drag queen Kim Chi.
BERNADETTE: F (40’s – 50’s). White. President’s sister. She’s got your back, as long as getting your back means getting you high and helping you break your parole. She’s fiercely loyal, but sometimes that loyalty extends only as far as herself. Meredith Palmer from The Office meets Ava Coleman from Abbott Elementary.
CHRIS: F (30’s – 40’s). Black. Journalist. She’s gonna find the answer, even if you don’t want her to. A working mom who loves both her family and her job with competing energies, she never forgets to come in with the clever one-liner that will leverage her way in to the deeper truth behind what you are saying. Syd from The Bear meets Paris Geller from Gilmore Girls.
MARGARET: F (40’s – 50’s). Black FLOTUS. She should be the president. We all think so. Poised, professional, and deeply, deeply suppressing the urge to kick her husband in the balls. She can do it all and she would, but she is gonna choose her moment. Annaliese Keating from How To Get Away with Murder meets Olivia Benson from SVU.
