Comedy XPeriment has been entertaining Des Moines audiences for over 20 years! Des Moines’ longest-running improv troupe has performed locally and regionally and is excited to bring their brand of improv to Tallgrass Theatre!

We are embarking on a pivotal journey to raise $190,000 to enhance our current facility—an investment that will shape the future of theatrical arts education in our community. This includes signing an updated 10-year lease for our space and building out an expansion deeper into the building.
Summer Outdoor Performance of “Side Show”
Tallgrass Theatre Company (TTC) announces the return of their Summer Concert Series. In collaboration with West Des Moines Parks and Recreation, TTC will be producing a show at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater located in West Des Moines.

Details – Based on the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, who became stars during the Depression, Side Show is a moving portrait of two women joined at the hip whose extraordinary bond brings them fame but denies them love.
Performance Dates: Thursday June 11th, Friday June 12th, and Saturday June 13th – Curtain 7:30pm, gates open at 6:00pm
The Jamie Hurd Amphitheater is located behind City Hall at 4100 Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines. The City Hall parking lot is closest to the theater, with accessible parking located behind the city building.
Tickets: $20 suggested Donation
Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, picnic items. Follow park rules for beverages allowed.

Are you looking for a vocal coach or help with audition prep? Seedlings Children’s Theatre is now offering vocal lessons for both children and adults! Whether you’re preparing for an audition, looking to improve your singing technique, or just want to gain confidence in your voice, our expert instructors are here to help. Join us for personalized lessons in a supportive and fun environment!
Volunteer With Tallgrass Theatre Company!
Come for an hour or two, or half a day or the whole day. You set your schedule, and we will get you started when you get here. Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring work gloves if you have them. Tools will be provided but please bring your own if that would make you feel more comfortable. No previous experience needed. We have great technical directors and experienced people to help you. Bottled water is available and lunch will be provided.

Free Will Donation, with a suggested $10 donation. Your donation allows Tallgrass Theatre to continue this great event. Bring some music or choose from the vast library available. Tallgrass concessions will be open with beverages (beer, wine, water & soda) and snacks (chips & candy) available.
Come to sing or come to enjoy some local voices singing Broadway tunes! If you are preparing for an audition, you are welcome to bring your song with cuts for extra prep work.
